What are dental implants and why may I choose to get dental implants in Stoke on Trent?

Dental implants are essentially small titanium screws that are inserted into the skull. These small titanium screws act as a replicate for a tooth’s natural root which is no longer there. Dental implants are used to replace one or several teeth within the mouth. Dental implants in Stoke on Trent consist of three aspects. The titanium screw is the base of the dental implant, and the abutment (also commonly referred to as the ‘connector’) is used to adhere the porcelain crown onto the base of the dental implant. A dental implant can be used to support a single porcelain crown (used to replace one single tooth within the mouth) or a whole arch within the mouth. An all-on-four dental implant is an example of an implant that is consisting of four dental implants to support a bridge of porcelain crowns. An individual who may decide to undergo dental implants in Stoke on Trent may have lost one or even several teeth within the mouth. Dental Implants may be ideal for patients who do not wish for a complex dental aftercare regimen, as dental implants can be looked after in the same way as normal and natural teeth.

Dentures have to be removed when eating and cleaning, however dental implants are a more long term option and can last an extremely long time when maintained correctly, as well as using the correct forms of after care (including regular check-ups).
